Since young, I have always loved taking pictures of anything and everything I find pleasing to the eye. I always would have a camera in hand, or use a phone, to capture the little moments. My belief of my role as a preschool educator

~A child's life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark~

I believe that children learn from what they observe around them (people's actions, behaviors, attitudes, mannerism, and so on). Hence, as an educator, I have to present myself in a way that will leave children with only positive influences.

As an educator, it is my responsibility to teach the children. No child is unteachable, every child just has a different learning style and pace. It is up to me to teach them in ways they can understand.

My belief of children as learners

~The more risk you allow children to make, the better they learn to look after themselves~

Only through mistakes, will we then learn and grow. Taking risks is a crucial part of learning. Without taking a chance at trying new things, children won't make mistakes that they can learn and grow from. Letting children take risks allows them to discover things for themselves.

~Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn~

Self-directed play teaches children coping skills that cannot be taught through instructions, such as compassion, self-regulation, self-confidence, active engagement, motivation to learn and be literate, and so on. Giving children the time for free play allows them to learn skills that cannot be taught in the classroom. True play is child-initiated and child-directed.
